IBM本来已经很酷很好玩的头脑风暴会议（同时也是创意孵化器项目）InnovationJam开到了Second Life里，CEO都有了自己的Avatar。戴尔开始在Second Life里卖电脑。哈佛法学院在Second Life里开了课，并且这样的事情还会越来越多。上学、上班、读新闻、看电视、逛街购物……Second Life也许曾经是一款网络游戏，但现在不是了。 和Second Life类似的There相对而言冷清一些，它的创始人Will Harvey后来做起了3D聊天室IMVU。Will Harvey参加了今年5月的首届Metaverse Roadmap Summit，这个高峰会议聊的是： What happens when video games meet Web 2.0?
